Automatically Collected Information

When you use our platform, we may automatically collect:

• IP address and browser type (used for security and, unless you turn Marketing off, for measuring our ads)

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your matrimonial profile
• To match you with compatible partners based on your stated preferences
• To verify your identity and secure your account through OTP verification
• To communicate with you about your account, matches, and service updates
• To process payments for premium services
• To improve our platform and user experience
• To prevent fraud and maintain platform security

We use WhatsApp Business API to send you important account-related messages. By providing your phone number and opting in to receive WhatsApp messages, you consent to receive:

• One-time passwords (OTP) for account verification and Sign in
• Account security alerts
• Password reset codes

Your Consent and Control

You have full control over WhatsApp communications:

• You must explicitly opt-in to receive WhatsApp messages from us
• You can opt-out at any time by contacting us or replying STOP to our messages
• We will immediately honor your request to stop WhatsApp communications
• We do not send marketing or promotional messages via WhatsApp without your separate explicit consent

We only use WhatsApp for transactional and security-related messages as described above. For WhatsApp, your phone number is used only to deliver these messages; it is not shared with third parties for their own marketing. See “Cookies and your choices” for how we measure our ads with Meta.

We respect your privacy and limit information sharing to what is necessary:

• With other registered users: Only the profile information you choose to make visible
• With service providers: Payment processors, hosting providers, and communication services (like WhatsApp) that help us operate our platform
• With Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising measurement: the details described in “Cookies and your choices” — only if you have not turned Marketing off.
• For legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

• Secure data transmission using encryption
• Secure authentication including OTP verification
• Regular security assessments
• Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
• Secure data storage with reputable service providers

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request information about what personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile at any time through your account settings
• Deletion: You can delete your account and personal data yourself anytime from Settings → Account → Delete My Account, or request deletion by emailing support@rishtaywalay.com
• Withdraw Consent: Opt-out of communications at any time
• Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured format

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, you can:

• Update your profile directly through your account settings
• Manage your account — pause, close, or delete — directly from Settings → Account
• Email us at support@rishtaywalay.com with your request
• Contact us through our website contact form

We will respond to your request within 30 days. For account deletion requests, we will delete your personal information within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

When you first visit, we ask which cookies you allow. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

• Necessary (always on): keep you logged in, remember your language and your cookie choice, keep the WhatsApp button working and reconnect you with the same matchmaker, protect sign-up and login from bots (reCAPTCHA), run the support chat, and count profile views so that each visitor is counted only once. RishtayWalay.com cannot work without these.
• Analytics (only if you allow it): Google Analytics counts visits and the pages viewed, so we can improve the site. It never receives page titles, your search filters or which member profiles you open. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.
• Marketing (unless you turn it off): when you tap a WhatsApp button on RishtayWalay.com — on one of our ad pages or in the site footer — our server tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that a chat was started, with your IP address, your browser type, Meta's browser ID if one is set and, if you came from an ad, the ad-click code, so we can see which ads work. Each person is reported at most once. If you sign up or buy a plan, we also send, in hashed (coded, one-way) form only: your phone number, your email address (if you gave one), your first and last name, date of birth, gender, city, province and country, and your RishtayWalay.com account ID. If you sign up on the website, these browser details are sent with your sign-up too. Meta uses the hashed details only to match you with accounts it already knows. For a purchase, we also send the plan and the amount paid.
• What we never do: we do not use a Facebook pixel in your browser, and we never send Meta — or share for advertising — your profile content, photos, religion, sect or caste, marital status, partner preferences, match searches or messages.

If you turn Marketing off, nothing about your visits, sign-up or purchases is sent to Meta from then on for this browser, and for your account when you change it while logged in. Turning a category off also deletes its cookies from your browser.

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:

• Active account data: Retained while your account is active
• Deleted accounts: Personal data deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Legal requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law

Rishtay Walay is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete such information promptly.

If you are accessing our service from outside Pakistan, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in Pakistan or other countries where our servers are located. By using our service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
